Title: Program and administrative specialist, Accelerate Prosperity, Kyrgyz Republic

Reports to: Regional Lead Virtual Accelerate, Accelerate Prosperity, Kyrgyz Republic

Location: Bishkek (with frequent travels to regions)

Duration of Contract: 4 month contract, with option for extension

About Accelerate Prosperity

Accelerate Prosperity (AP) is a new global initiative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Central and South Asia, which provides a formal structure to catalyze enterprises, where economic opportunities remain insufficient. AP’s mission is to create inclusive economic growth and empowerment, with a focus on youth and women in rural areas, by catalyzing sustainable Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs), and by promoting entrepreneurship. Through patient capital and tailored technical assistance and business advisory to startups and existing businesses, AP inspires entrepreneurship by offering lean startup incubation, preparing promising enterprises for investment, facilitating mentorship, and enabling access to angel and investment financing.

 

Program and Administrative Specialist will be based in Bishkek and will work under supervision of the Regional Lead Virtual Accelerate (VA) and is an integral member of the country program. S/he will be responsible for the timely implementation of the administrative and financial tasks.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare budget revisions, revise programme awards and status; and determine unutilized funds and the operational and financial close of a programme
  • Assists in program planning and organizing including assisting in defining program goals and objectives and developing procedures and processes.
  • Coordinates with partner agencies and organizations at the federal, state and local level, including those with a regulatory authority. Coordinates informally and assists in preparing official reports and correspondence.
  • Create requisitions in Quantum for development programmes; register good receipts in Quantum
  • Offer assistance to accounting department to provide manage invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Perform specialized administrative duties required to support the specific program area, using discretion to make judgments based on operating guidelines. Support purchasing requirements for department, researching items, and obtaining price quotes, entering information into the organizations systems, receiving purchase orders.
  • Process payment for consultants, experts, and other program related payments as delegated.
  • Perform any other tasks are assigned by the Management which required for the smooth running and success of the County Office implementation.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A university degree in law, finance, public policy or business administration, economics or in a related field.
  • At least 3-year professional experience in this area.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting software.
  • Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
  • Good knowledge of English language, ideally a knowledge of English, Russian and Kyrgyz language.

 

 

 

  • Willingness to up skill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management.

  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
