Social Media Management 

1. INTERNATIONAL ALERT – THE ORGANISATION

International Alert is one of the world’s leading peacebuilding organisations, with nearly 30 years of experience laying the foundations for peace.

We work with local people in over 25 countries around the world to help them build peace, and we advise governments, organisations and companies on how to support peace. We focus on issues that influence peace, including governance, economics, gender relations, social development, climate change, and the role of businesses and international organisations in high-risk places.

International Alert has been working in Kyrgyzstan since 2010. We facilitate dialogue between the government and civil society, promote the role and capacity of civil society organisations to bridge the gap between societal concerns and the democratic process, strengthen social partnerships and promote civic education.

2. BACKGROUND

The Social Media Management individual consultant or a media/SMM company – contractor will play a key role in enhancing International Alert’s online presence and communication strategies. This includes providing dedicated support to the projects team and the global organization, ensuring impactful advocacy and public communications of the organization’s activities and outcomes.

3. THE DUTIES

The Social Media Management individual consultant or a media/SMM company contractor will lead the social media efforts for various ongoing programme activities, including the “Living with Dignity,” “Climate Change and Peacebuilding,” and “STREAM” projects in Central Asia countries (Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan):

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regular update of International Alert Kyrgyzstan’s Communications plans and strategies in line with the Central Asia regional and Kyrgyzstan Country programme strategy, annual and work plans.

• Regular (no less than 3 times per week) update of social media plan for visibility of the projects being implemented by International Alert in the Kyrgyz Republic and other Central Asia countries (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan). Develop an awareness raising, media campaign online.
• Coordinating the production of engaging social media content, including videos, photo exhibitions, infographics, and other visuals.
• Publish Instagram, Twitter, Facebook posts at least three times a week. Administering and curating content for social media accounts, ensuring user support, and collaborating with relevant staff to address user concerns.
• Coordination with the International Alert’s programme team in Kyrgyzstan CO and the communications focal point in Tajikistan CO.
• Development of an annual communications plan
• With the inputs from the programme team, creating and disseminating press releases, success stories, articles, and other dynamic content on project activities to ensure visibility through various media channels.
• Designing visually appealing social media materials and other communications collateral, such as success stories, blogs, articles, and advocacy documents.
• Coordinating with Public Relations officers of partner organizations and the HQ communications team on the strategic use of communication materials.

4. Contractor Requirements

• Professional SMM or media/communications expert officially registered as an Individual Entrepreneur (IE) with tax authorities or a registered organisation in the field of SMM
• Obtained at least 1 year of SMM or media/ communications development experience
• Experience in working with international organisations is preferred
• Availability of photo/video filming equipment or a mobile phone with a high-quality camera, photo editing equipment, etc as well as having access to contemporary communications-related software and applications such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Google Analytics and Plann.

The submission should include an overview of services they provide;  copy  of  a  media/ comms company registration certificate or an IE registration certificate; Request for quotation with the price of providing services; at least 3 references from organisations that had obtained  your comms or media support services in the past.
