Full Title: Quality Assurance Specialist (Open to Kyrgyzstan Nationals only)

Unit/Office: Executive UNIT
Reports To: Country Director
Duty Station: BISHKEK city

Dates/length of contract:

  • The anticipated contract will be for a base period, with up to four option periods, exercisable at the unilateral option of the Peace Corps based on satisfactory performance, continued need for the position, and availability of funds.
  • This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum working schedule of 40 hours per week.

The role of the Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) is to champion a culture of quality assurance (QA), continuous quality process improvement, and system simplification at Post. The QAS will train up and support staff to optimize systems and processes and make it easier to accomplish Peace Corps/ Kyrgyz Republic (“Post”) priorities while ensuring compliance with Peace Corps global policies. The QAS will ensure clear guidance and systems are in place to properly conduct volunteer site management planning, execution and documentation and will be responsible for the oversight of Post’s Volunteer Information Database Application (VIDA) and will serve as Records Management Point of Contact for the entire Post. The QAS will support Post in preparing for audits and evaluations and will keep abreast of recurring findings at other Posts to proactively address common issues.

The QAS reports to the Country Director (CD) who manages day-to-day workload.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: B.S., B.A. or higher degree
Experience: Five years or more of professional work experience. Experience with records management, audit, compliance, project management or Volunteer management.
Experience in planning and delivering training.

Language: Professional oral and written English and Russian language proficiency required, working knowledge of Kyrgyz language is required.

Required Experience, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong background in data standardization, process facilitation and management (organizational development, tracking tasks and processes and ensuring accurate documentation).
  • Advanced computer proficiency in MS Office: Windows, Excel, Word.
  • Experience working with database management software.
  • Experience effectively coordinating complex processes across multiple business units.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural team.

Qualified candidates will also be evaluated on the following:

  • Demonstrated intercultural competence, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility related skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthetize, interpret, and apply regulations; versatility; ability to take initiative to resolve problems.
  • Should be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

The individual will be required to follow any workplace health and/or safety rules indicated for their position specified in Peace Corps policies – including complying with any medical and/or training requirements the policy/policies specify.
Compensation from USD $22,942 to $32,119, negotiable based on salary history and experience.
