Title: Environmental Review Checklist (ERC) Consultant

Reports to: Country Director and HCD coordinator

Accelerate Prosperity (AP) is a part of new global initiative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Central and South Asia, which provides a formal structure to catalyze enterprises, where economic opportunities remain insufficient. AP’s mission is to create inclusive economic growth and empowerment, with a focus on youth and women in rural areas, by catalyzing sustainable Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs), and by promoting entrepreneurship. Through patient capital and tailored technical assistance and business advisory to startups and existing businesses, AP inspires entrepreneurship, offering lean startup incubation, getting promising enterprises investment-ready, facilitating mentorship, and enabling access to angel and investment financing.

AP in Kyrgyzstan is conducting HCD (Human Centered Design) Green Technology Challenge under Local Impact project. HCD Green Technology involves understanding, empathizing, synthesizing, ideation and testing phases. ERC consultant will be tasked to develop and prepare Environmental Review Checklist for selected projects.

Education: Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Proven experience in developing environmental policies and procedures, preferably in the development sector.
• Familiarity with government regulations and donor (USAID) requirements related to environmental management.

Skills/Competencies: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Languages: Fluency in spoken/written English, Russian

• Review existing environmental review processes and tools.
• Review selected businesses and solutions under HCD Green Technology project for compliance with Environmental Review Checklist
• Develop and fill out Environmental Review Checklist (Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan, monitoring plan)
• other tasks involved with ERC
